We have been insuring Australia’s horses for over 50 years.
We take pride in being family owned and run with values that are the same as our clients’- the love and passion for horses and racing.
When Bob and Lorraine Logan started the firm back 1969 their vision was clear; to become the leading horse insurer in the Southern Hemisphere, but to always keep family values at the heart of what we do.
That’s why the business remains 100% in the hands of the Logan family, with Bob and Lorraine’s son Richard heading the firm for over 20 years.
And it’s why our family values mean we treat all our clients with respect and a shared passion; when you talk to us, you are dealing with horse people who have owned, ridden and raced horses all over the world.
That means we understand your unique requirements and will go out of our way to make sure you have the best cover for your needs.
There is nothing more distressing than losing your best friend or your
investment, so we make the claim process stress free so you can get back on your feet.
Richard Logan, Managing Director
Richard was born into the horse insurance world, with over 30 years of insurance broking experience.
In 2007 he stepped into leading Logans after his father, Bob Logan, sadly passed away having pioneered livestock insurance since the 1960s.
Richard has been involved in planning and implementing insurance for Australia’s leading horse studs, trainers, syndicators, equestrian riders, and other livestock needs such as feedlots, alpaca’s and various stud animals. While the majority of this has been within the Australian market, he has gained further experience in the London, Asian and NZ markets.
He has successfully overseen and managed claim settlements on some of the largest equine claims in Australia. But whether it is a $1500 claim or tens of millions of dollars, he takes great pride in making the claim process as simple and stress free for clients as possible, no matter who the client is.
Richard has a Bachelor of Business degree with post graduate studies in Finance and Insurance. He is a fellow of the Australian and NZ Institute of Insurance and Finance (ANZIIF). He is also a Fellow of the National Insurance Brokers Association of Australia (NIBA)
Quality is not an accident.
It is the result of experience,
expertise and doing what we do best.
Horses are one of the most accident-prone
animals on the planet.
Studies show that the chance of claiming on a horse is 28 times greater than claiming on a house insurance policy.
Even with the greatest of care and attention you can give to your horse, it is impossible to prevent accidents and illnesses.
But if something happens, our history of prompt claim payments, no fuss processing and rapid settlements will mean you don’t have to worry about insurance stress.
We know all the pit falls, tricky policy wordings, clauses to watch out for and how to get the best quality cover for your situation.
