Former Shuttle Stallion Real Quiet
Kentucky Derby (Gr I) winner Real Quiet, who was treated at the University of Pennsylvania’s New Bolton Center for abscesses in both hind feet, completed a successful test breeding March 19 at the center.
“He felt comfortable in covering the mare, and everything went fine,” said syndicate manager Mike Jester. “Dr. (Dean) Richardson and his staff have done a great job with him.”
Real Quiet, who stands at Dr. William Solomon’s Pin Oak Lane Farm near New Freedom, Pa., was sent to New Bolton Feb. 19 after showing signs of discomfort after mounting his mares. Abscesses were determined to be the cause of discomfort, and he was successfully treated.
Twelve-year-old Real Quiet (Quiet American – Really Blue, by Believe It) is scheduled to cover two of Jester’s mares March 20. If all goes well, he is scheduled to be released soon.
He shuttled to Vinery Stud in Australia during 1988.
